GCC Alumni Cochin Chapter dated 18-jul-2018
The Cochin chapter of GCC Alumni met at Cdr. Divakaran’s residence on 18-Jul-2018. The session was chaired by the president Prof. K.Jayadevan. The chief guest Prof. Dr. J. Michael Alumoottil presented the scope and details of Alumni endowments in the name of Girija – Michael. Prof. Michael gave a description that Rupees 10 lakhs is being donated to the Alumni association for endowments. 50% of the interest will be added to the principal, 40% will be given away as scholarship and study aid and the remaining 10% will go to the association for administrative expenses. Prof. Dr. Michael expressed his hope and confidence in the alumni association. His action of humanitarian values might inspire other GCC alumni also to go back to the college and extend service to the alma matter.
Cdr Divakaran and Rani Divakaran hosted the meeting by providing a very co-ordinal homely environment and a lavish lunch. The association places on record, with gratitude, the magnanimity and commitment of Cdr Divakarans.

[19/07 8:56 pm] Cdr Divakaran: Thanks ,Prof. Jayadevan, and EC members for your kind words .lndeed we are grateful to you for giving us the opportunity to host this meeting at my residence despite limitations. But for this kind gesture from your end, my ailing wife, under palliative care for bone cancer and confined to the recliner chair since 2015 , would never have got such an opportunity to meet old friends and aluminus of GCC, apart from the great joy and excitement of meeting one of my favorite teachers, Prof. Michael Sir,(1960-63 Bsc Physics) after so many decades.It was really great that we could at least spend a couple of hours together, bringing back nostalgic sweet memories of those glorious younger years spent at GCC. This event has done a world of good to my wife in boosting her morale and lifting her spirits.We appreciate the time and efforts each one of you taken to make it to our house, despite torrential downpour and personal health problems.We also appreciate the time and efforts taken by Prof.Michael Sir to come down all the way for this event and make such a huge and meaningful contribution for the well-being of the college student community.My wife joins me in expressing our heartfelt gratitude to each one of you for making this occasion really a great and memorable one for us. ?.

[19/07 9:G.K.Prakash: Thank you so much Divakaran for hosting us fr the alumni.chapter meet.yesterday at short notice. Thanks to all members who hd taken pains to attend the meeting. The theme and focus were quite appropriate and nicely presented by Mr. Jayadevan very ably projected by Prof Michael. It has been a very encouraging and laudable gesture from prof Michael on the humanitarian aspects of this noble venture. And lastly to Mr.Narayananktty for the enthusiasm shown. Kudos to the Executive team
